School Targets for 2018-19
On our INSET day at the beginning of this week, staff and Governors met to discuss the school’s targets for the year 2018 - 2019. Each year the school is required to identify areas that need to be developed and possibly improved. These targets become the basis of the School’s Development Plan and throughout the year staff, Governors and children work together to achieve these targets. We would really like to involve parents and children in the process. Hopefully, by informing you about the targets, you will be able to work with us to ensure that this very successful school becomes even more successful!
This year we would like to focus our attention on progress. As a school our outcomes are always very positive and we always perform above the National Average. This year, we are slightly disappointed with progress and, although we have improved on last year, we feel we could do better, especially with regards our high attainers in year 6.
Therefore, our first 2 targets are linked to progress.
Target 1: To ensure that a higher % of pupils, in particular high attainers, make increased progress in writing.
Target 2: To ensure that a higher % of pupils, in particular high attainers, make increased progress in reading.
Target number three links to the gathering of evidence in KS 1.
Target 3: To ensure pupils in KS 1 are given the opportunities to capture their learning in reading, writing and maths.
Target number four links to ‘PREVENT’.
Target 4: To put in place PREVENT procedures that will ensure EVERYBODY at Aldingbourne School are safe and have an awareness of how to keep each other safe.
